For an optimal silk finish, print at slightly higher temperatures within the recommended range (220-235°C) and reduce your print speed. To maintain filament quality and prevent moisture absorption, store SUNLU Silk PLA+ in a cool, dry place, ideally in its vacuum-sealed bag with desiccant. If opened, use a dry box or a sealed container with fresh desiccant packs to ensure consistent print performance and avoid brittleness.

While Silk PLA+ offers improved strength over standard PLA, its primary design focus is aesthetic. For high-stress or functional parts requiring superior mechanical properties, consider engineering-grade materials like PETG, ABS, or tougher specialty filaments. It is best suited for decorative and light-use items.

To minimize stringing and oozing, fine-tune your retraction settings. Start with a retraction distance of 5-7mm and a retraction speed of 40-60mm/s. You may also slightly lower the hotend temperature, ensuring it remains within the recommended range, and increase print travel speed to reduce dwell time.
