While PLA-Silk is less hygroscopic than some other materials, proper drying enhances print quality. For optimal results, dry eSUN PLA-Silk at 50°C for 4-6 hours. This process helps prevent stringing, bubbling, and ensures consistent material flow during printing, resulting in a smoother surface finish.

eSUN PLA-Silk generally prints well within an extruder temperature range of 190-230°C and a bed temperature of 50-70°C. However, it is advisable to perform a temperature tower test to find the sweet spot for your specific printer setup and desired silk effect, especially considering variations in hotends.

To maximize the silk effect, try printing at slightly higher temperatures within the recommended range and use a slightly slower print speed. Ensure consistent extrusion and avoid excessive cooling, as this can dull the shine. A larger nozzle diameter can sometimes also enhance the visual impact of the glossy finish.

eSUN PLA-Silk typically adheres well to common build surfaces like glass, PEI, and painter's tape, especially with a heated bed between 50-70°C. For enhanced adhesion, a thin layer of PVA glue stick or specialized adhesive spray can be used, particularly for larger prints to prevent warping and ensure consistent first layer bonding.
